Dr. Rhea Miller graduated with her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University and published her dissertation entitled, OperaTunity: Opera Education for the Community in May 2016. Dr. Miller was the Soprano Teaching Artist for Arizona Opera’s 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 OperaTunity Outreach Program where she had the opportunity to cover-study the roles of Lucia, Susanna, Josephine, Musetta, Violetta, Norina, and Marie in Arizona Opera’s productions of Lucia di Lammermoor, Le Nozze di Figaro, H.M.S. Pinafore, La bohème, La Traviata, Don Pasquale, and La Fille du Régiment. Dr. Miller also made her opera debut as Papagena in Arizona Opera’s production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute in 2015.
She is currently the Music Instructor at Bonneville Academy and teaches middle-school Band, Choir, and Orchestra as well as Music Elements and Ukulele to elementary students. In her spare time, Dr. Miller is a member of the Utah Opera Chorus and teaches voice and piano lessons in the Salt Lake City area.
