Julie Van Cott

LIBRARIAN/STUDENT SUPPORT

Julie Van Cott

Mrs. Van Cott was born and raised in Orem, Utah. The elementary school she attended was also named Bonneville, so when Bonneville Academy opened, it immediately had a place in her heart. She bounced back and forth between her local schools & the schools in the city her mother taught, American Fork, graduating at American Fork High School. She met her future husband at age 15 while on vacation in Arizona, and they were married 5 years later after old school correspondence through “snail mail”. She worked as office manager in the first apartment complexes then dental offices until the arrival of the first of their 5 children. She stopped her education after her two-year degree and plans to go back for more.

When Bonneville opened she returned to the workforce from being a stay-at-home mom for 13 years to work as a substitute teacher and has since grown into teaching middle school elective classes and being the librarian. She loves that because of subbing and being the middle school dance chair for the first 3 years she was able to really get to know many of Bonneville’s students. Mrs. Van Cott loves reading, getting outside, swimming, hiking, the family’s ‘puppy, Phoebe & living close to Lake Point, Utah. She enjoys learning and creating alongside her students.
